Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year. This email contains important information for all students grades 3-12. Please read through the email completely, and you may want to save it for later. It includes items such as device handout, protection plan information, and what to do if at any point throughout the year your device or charger does not work or is damaged.
***These grade levels are for the upcoming 2015-2016 School Year
Devices will be distributed after parent nights have taken place at each school. The Chromebooks will be distributed by the teacher during class time on an assigned date(s). Please be on the look out for an email from your child’s school or teacher with details.
There is still time to pick up your device before school starts! You may come anytime through from to pick up your device. Parents may pick up devices without the student. Any students that do not pick up a device before school starts will be issued one approximately 5-7 days after school begins. The wait time may be shorter, but this is an estimated time frame.
AFTER SCHOOLS STARTS
4th-8th grade- teachers will request devices for students who need them. This will be done during class time at the teacher’s discretion.
9th-12th grade- After (the first day of school), students may request a device using the service request link on our website www.hcseli.com. The device will be sent to the school, and the student may pick it up at the designated location.
Note: Please be patient as the beginning of the school year is a busy time of year. We strive for a 24-48 hour turnaround on service requests, but this may not be the case during the first week or so of school.
If your student’s Chromebook requires repair at any point throughout the school year, please fill out the service request form on our website www.hcseli.com . You may bring it to the Old Berry Campus to be repaired or your student may leave it with the assigned administrator at your school. An ELI runner will pick up the device from the school and bring it to Old Berry for repair. There is a 24-48 hour turnaround on these repairs.
If your student’s device is lost/stolen, please contact us immediately at firstname.lastname@example.org We will be happy to help resolve the situation.
Device Protection Plan
The device protection plan will be made available on My School Fees as of .
You may pay for it by going to www.myschoolfees.com and selecting Hoover-IT Department (not your child's school). You may need to add your student to pay fees. Select Device Protection Plan and add to cart. You may use a MasterCard or check to pay online. The protection plan is an annual fee and covers 2 breaks per school year. It also covers any lost/stolen devices at a reduced charge.
*** Device Protection Plan must be purchased in order for students to take their device home for the summer.

July Technology Update REMINDER
Important Upcoming Dates: (All of these are at the Old Berry location at 2826 Columbiana Road Hoover, AL 35216 between the hours of )
- Device pickup for 2015-2016 School Year (this is for any student that does not currently have a device in upcoming grades 4-10)
- 2015-2016 Online Registration with Infosnap must be complete to receive your device for the new school year. (i.e. ELI Agreement and residency verification)
- Juniors and Seniors may also come during this time to swap iPads for chromebooks
- Last day for iPad turn in and to swap for Chromebooks for Juniors and Seniors ONLY
- First day for all students

When coming to turn in iPads, please ensure they are erased and have “Find my iPad” turned off.
